Because the performing arts are an integral part of learning at AIS, all grades participate in the theater. Our approach is performance-based, with students given opportunities to perform for their families and the broader community.
Our large-scale performances, including our annual musical, bring together students across grade levels. This gives students of all ages the confidence to project themselves on stage in front of their peers, parents and the school community.
Students support the theater backstage, and take a leading role in all aspects of our production. This includes stage management, photography, digital recording and independent film production. As a signature experience, please take part in our annual Spring Musical! From leading to supporting roles, the possibilities for students are endless.
Every student at AIS is an artist, and we carefully curate creative spaces for children to explore their inner artist.
The visual arts are an integral part of the learning at AIS. The program features both strong, stand-alone coursework along with the infusion of the arts in a variety of disciplines and subject areas. Visual arts take a high priority from the early years through high school, with signature exhibition and performance opportunities for students of all ages.
The AIS Music Program has been developed to meet the changing needs of students at all levels, from Early Childhood through High School.
The Elementary Program is rooted in self expression. It provides all students with a solid foundation to ensure a lifelong appreciation of and engagement with music, including listening, responding, and performance skills.
The Middle School Program builds on this solid foundation with increased opportunities for students to engage in music in new ways, including student-led projects and performances that engender a creative, personal engagement with music as an expressive and performing art.
The High School Program further diversifies the offering available to students by identifying and selecting course objectives to reflect the needs and interests of students.
