The AIS campus is located at Km. 74.8 Ruta Nacional 14, Ciudad Vieja. In November, 2015 AIS finalized the first phase of its permanent campus. Located on seven acres, 10 minutes from downtown Antigua, the 5,000 meter plus meter facility was designed by leading Guatemalan firm, Seis Arquitectos, and includes administrative buildings, classrooms, cafeteria, kitchen, technology room, library, science and art facilities. The design has an excellent flow, natural light and ventilation. There are four separate buildings, one of which has a second story. AIS has athletic fields composed of a full sized soccer field and two courts for basketball and volleyball. All of it set in a beautiful natural setting designed by an expert in sustainable agriculture and gardening. The grounds include an organic vegetable garden, several dozen fruit trees, herbs and over 400 banana trees.
AIS is Building for the Future! Celebrating its 12th anniversary this year, AIS enjoys a strong reputation in the region and now has waiting lists in the majority of grade levels. Building upon the momentum of the last dozen years, AIS completed a successful $1,000,000 campaign which allowed us to invest in:
Early Childhood Center: 4 purpose-built classrooms, each with its own bathroom A nursery classroom for faculty and staff children
Secondary Music Classroom: Stand-alone performing arts classroom to host chorus, orchestra, piano class and music production
Library Expansion: A mix of large-group, small-group and individual study areas A special events room A learning intervention center
Additional Campus Improvements: 2 locker rooms Office space for Student Support Services and Elementary Principal New accounting office
