PROGRAM

OBJECTIVES

Our principal objective is to bring to life activities based on the learning principles and philosophy of our AIS community. These activities are inclusive and comprehensive, and they allow the student to assume leadership roles during the development of the various programs inside and outside the community.

The After School program is pedagogically designed for students from grades 1 - 12. Participation supports the development of skills and abilities that lead to a better quality of life. Areas of focus include sports and recreational, culture (music and the arts), and traditional academic exploration.
This range of activities promotes a student profile with a sense of belonging in daily and community life.

ATHLETICS

AIS students are healthy and active. We take advantage of Guatemala’s perfect climate with year-round athletic activities.  Our robust extra-curricular program offers many choices such as karate, soccer, capoeira, basketball, volleyball, table tennis, and climbing-to name a few. There are lots of opportunities for friendly competition, including through team sports such as soccer, basketball, volleyball and table tennis among others.  All students also take physical education classes where they learn games and fitness skills for life.
