Our innovative Teacher Training Center (TTC) is a partnership between AIS and Universidad Rafael Landívar through which early career educators are placed as associate teachers in Early Childhood and Primary classrooms.

The TTC has enormous benefits, both for AIS and for the surrounding community. These include:

  • Extending AIS' mission of providing the best quality education in Central America for all who seek it to a new group - early career educators in and around Antigua.

  • Engaging early career educators in a series of weekly professional development experiences led by faculty mentors in addition to on-the-job training in a progressive educational environment.

  • Bringing a third full-time teacher into many Early Childhood and Primary classrooms. This allows for increased individualized attention for our students and further augments the bilingual learning environment.
Early Career Educators need your support! Many travel long distances to join us each day. Consider donating to the TTC initiative if you would like to offset costs associated with their transportation, meals, technology and training. For more information on how you can get involved, please reach out to director@antiguais.org
