The COVID19 pandemic caused the entire world to turn upside down. AIS was no exception. Faced with the sudden closing of the campus on March 16th, 2020, AIS had to act and respond quickly to ensure learning continuity. Our teachers had one day to meet and work on procedures and plans, then they were online for the next three months. During those months, the administration attended webinars, researched and created new guidelines and expectations for teachers, parents and students.
AIS Distance Learning is based on live stream sessions to ensure interaction between the students and teachers, as well as pre-recorded video lessons to ensure students can access lessons at any time convenient to the family.
The Ministry of Education has now approved AIS's hybrid learning plan which consists of 4 days of on-campus classes, with one day, Wednesday, online. In this model, limited sports and extra-curricular activities are offered, students will bring their own lunches to campus and no bus service is provided.
When Ciudad Vieja is in green, AIS will reopen its campus entirely and offer full time, 5 days per week in-person learning for elementary and secondary students. Regular extra-curricular activities will be provided, students must bring their own lunches and parents are able to reserve bus services.
COVID Guidelines: When On Campus
Take a detailed look at our health and safety protocols: here. 1. All teaching, administrative and maintenance staff have received training in corresponding health and safety protocols. 2. Parents/Legal Guardians are not allowed to exit their vehicles while dropping students off or picking them up. 3. Students and visitors, as well as staff, will have their temperature taken once on campus. 4. Students and visitors must wear a mask at all times. 5. Social distancing will be respected. 6. Students must bring their own lunch and water bottle as food will not be provided on campus. 7. According to protocols, administrative staff will only meet with parents or visitors who have an appointment in the office. Appointments must be scheduled ahead of time in order to enter campus, unless visiting the accounting office.

Los padres / tutores legales no pueden salir de sus vehículos mientras dejen o recojan a los estudiantes. 3. A los estudiantes y visitantes, así como al personal, se les tomará la temperatura una vez en el campus. 4. Los estudiantes y visitantes deben usar una máscara en todo momento. 5. Se respetará el distanciamiento social. 6. Los estudiantes deben traer su propio almuerzo y botella de agua, ya que no se proporcionará comida en el campus. 7. De acuerdo con los protocolos, el personal administrativo solo se reunirá con los padres o visitantes que tengan una cita en la oficina. Las citas deben programarse con anticipación para ingresar al campus, a menos que se visite la oficina de contabilidad.
